About this tool
Flip enough coins and a beautiful pattern appears: the share of heads drifts ever closer to 50%. This is the law of large numbers in action — individual flips are unpredictable, but the average of many becomes stable and predictable.
At the same time, surprisingly long streaks are completely normal. In 100 fair flips, a run of six or seven of the same side is expected, not suspicious. This simulator lets you see both truths at once, with every flip drawn from the browser’s unbiased cryptographic generator.

Is each flip really 50/50?
Yes. Each flip independently draws heads or tails with equal probability using crypto-strong randomness. Past flips never influence the next one.
Why do I see long streaks?
Streaks are expected. With 100 flips, a run of 6–7 identical results is normal. A streak does not mean the coin is ‘due’ to switch — that belief is the gambler’s fallacy.
What is the law of large numbers?
It states that as you take more samples, the observed average gets closer to the true probability. Flip 10 coins and you might see 70% heads; flip 1000 and you will usually land very close to 50%.
