About this tool

The team randomizer takes the arguments out of picking sides. Paste everyone’s names, choose how you want to split them, and Mohoh shuffles them into balanced teams in a click.

Decide by number of teams (e.g. make 4 teams) or by people per team (e.g. groups of 3). It is ideal for gym class, pickup games, project groups, trivia nights and tournaments — fast, fair and no captains required.

Frequently asked questions

How does it keep teams balanced?

It shuffles everyone randomly, then deals them out one at a time across the teams — like dealing cards. This keeps team sizes within one person of each other.

Can I split by group size instead of team count?

Yes. Switch the ‘Split by’ dropdown to ‘people per team’ and it creates as many groups as needed to fit everyone.

Will it ever create uneven teams?

Only when people don’t divide evenly. In that case some teams get one extra member — the smallest possible imbalance.

Can I re-roll if I don’t like the teams?

Of course. Just press ‘Make Teams’ again for a completely fresh, random split.
